a plague on both your houses last time I visited my parents, the area was at the tail end of a locust plague. mum said driving was pretty terrifying, as you’d drive through a swarm of them and completely lose visibility. there were still a lot of them around - you walk across a piece of lawn and they’d rise up around you in clicking clouds. a locust plague certainly keeps the spiders well fed.
